Last Friday, Kayleigh successfully defended her thesis, titled “Interactions of Microbial Siderophores with Titanic Ions and Titanium-Bearing Minerals.” We are proud of all that you have accomplished and can’t wait to see what great things you do next! Congrats Dr. Jones!
Another great turnout by Temple Chemistry at the Philadelphia ACS Young Chemist Committee Student Poster Session! Our lab had four posters: Corey, Lauren, Anna, and Olivia. Notable achievements by our department were Akila Thenuwara from the Strongin lab and Owen O’Sullivan from the Zdilla lab. Akila won first place among graduate and post-doc posters and Owen won the best poster voted upon by the presenters. Great work everyone!
Each month Nerd Nite Philly has lectures about various fields by the experts themselves with plenty of beer at Frankford Hall! This month’s featured our favorite organometallic chemist, Graham Dobereiner to discuss catalysis! Check out some pictures we snapped of his presentation.
Kayleigh and Ann’s (as well as previous Valentine lab members Kathy and Celia) work was published as an ASAP article in Inorganic Chemistry today! If you are interested in titanium and siderophores, read this article. Great work everyone!
